Shockwave
$85
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) focuses high energy acoustic (sound) waves to tissue and bone targets to reduce pain, increase blood flow, reduce tissue mineralization and fibrosis, and accelerate the healing process. It can be used for the following conditions: pain relief, trigger point deactivation, tendinopathies, muscle strains, and non-healing fractures.
We use a Piezowave2 Veterinary unit. The piezoelectric shockwave delivers a high-energy, focused-wave treatment directly to target tissue with no sedation required. There are other types of shockwave (electrohydraulic, electromagnetic) and each one is different in energy generation, noise level, intensity, and depth of tissue penetration. We chose Piezowave due to its optimal energy delivery, dependable therapeutic effects, and overall patient comfort.
